ANIMAL WELLNESS

SPACE

The livestock industry in the southern hemisphere has extensive grasslands where cattle and sheep can graze freely throughout the year. The mild climate allows the animals to live in natural conditions, with plenty of room to move around and exhibit their natural behavior.

Calves and lambs stay with their mothers for an extended period after birth, allowing them to grow up in a calm and healthy manner.

Only when they are sufficiently developed are they placed in separate pastures. This first phase of life is essential for the vitality and resistance of young animals, and contributes greatly to their well-being.

At a time when sustainability and animal welfare are becoming increasingly important, many consumers rightly ask:
"Which meat supplier can demonstrably guarantee that their animals live under good welfare conditions?

There is no one specific meat supplier that universally guarantees the best animal welfare. What is clear is that suppliers who work transparently and are affiliated with recognized quality marks offer the highest assurance of good animal welfare.

GRASS FED AND GRAIN FED
Two terms: grass-fed means that the animal actually grows up on and from the grass. Grain fed means that the animal first grows up the same way on grass and is fed a balanced diet of natural raw materials such as grain and corn at a later age for at least 4 months, this is mainly in cattle. Lambs are always grass-fed.
